WOODBURY- Carol L. (Wyberg) Shortell, age 74 of Woodbury, beloved wife of Paul Shortell, Jr., entered peaceful rest on Friday, July 13, 2018 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Derby on February 22, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Hattie Wyberg. In Carol's free time, she loved to take her two dogs, Jack and Turbo to the dog park, shop, bake, cook home-made meals, spend time with friends and family, and watch her two great grand children, who will miss her dearly. In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by her two loving granddaughters, Shaye Hayden and her fiancé Frederick Haddad, and Casey Hayden; son-in-law, Robert Hayden, Jr., as well as two cherished great grandchildren, Braxton and Troy. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Shortell, III; daughter, Christine Marie Hayden; as well as her sister, Ruth O’Donnell. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 11 am in Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to Smillow Cancer Center.
