He was born on July 13th 1935 in Newfoundland the son of Joseph and Martha Andrews. The family moved from Newfoundland to Detroit, Michigan. They moved to NYC where Gerry became an enormously successful freelance artist, Gerry was sought out by Columbia Records and others requesting his art to use for many album covers of musicians, composers and vocalists.

Gerry worked for ABC television, where he received many awards including two Emmy awards and retired after 40 years.
