Waterbury, CT: Jean Turnbull Fitzgerald, age 94 of Waterbury passed away peacefully on November 13, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital Vitas Hospice Unit, Waterbury; she was the beloved wife of the late Robert Fitzgerald. Jean was born November 29, 1923 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Robert and Ellen (Cross) Turnbull. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1941 and attended UCONN, Post Business College, and Waterbury Hospital Nursing School. Jean was also employed by Benrus Watch Co., Howland Hughes, Scovill Manufacturing, Helen’s Bakery, and Musler Liebeskind. She will be fondly remembered for her love of sewing, quilting, crafts and tag sales. Jean is survived by her loving daughters, Kathleen Mazzeo of Waterbury, Jean Labas and her husband Chuck of Watertown, Roberta Barra and her husband John of Naugatuck; adored grandchildren, Michael Minicucci, Nick Minicucci, Shannon Mazzeo, Deana Merola, Melissa Pannone, Heather Herald, Shauna Bolan, Kaitlin Scanlon; 9 cherished great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Rollin, Frederick, and Robert; her sister Ellen; grandchildren, Marc Minicucci, and Kristin Valentin. A memorial gathering will take place in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 a.m.. Memorial donations should be made to The Vitas Hospice Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut.
