Obituary for Rev. Frederick Kuhlmann

Rev. Frederick Jennings Kuhlmann (fondly known as Fr. Fred), age 95 of Southbury and previously of Oxford, beloved husband of the late Joan Whatmough, entered peaceful rest on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 in Danbury Hospital. Born in St. Paul, MN, on April 28, 1923, he was the son of the late Frederick J. and Ruth (Jennings) Kuhlmann. A US Army Veteran of WWII, Fr. Fred worked as an engineer most of his adult life before joining the seminary. He served as Pastor at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (Oxford) and as the Assistant Rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Woodbury. He is survived by his son, Rick Kuhlmann of TN; daughter, Martha Preston-Kuhlmann of WI; stepdaughter Toni Taret (Michel) of France; as well as grandchildren and many close friends who considered him family. A Memorial service will be held on January 5, 2019 at 11am DIRECTLY at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 294 Main St. Woodbury, CT 06798. There are no calling hours. Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W.
