Obituary for Jack Ian Few

Jack Ian Few, age 33 of West Haven, entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on January 15, 1986, he was the son of the late Richard and Gertrude (Gretchen) (Gerst) Few. Jack was a proud mechanic by trade and loved working on and restoring cars. A volunteer fireman in Derby, he was vibrant and full of life. Jack was very family and friend oriented who also loved animals, especially his puppy, Evinrude. He will be remembered for his great integrity and never hesitating to lend his help in any way possible. If you knew Jack, you loved Jack.

Survivors include his best friend and fiancé, Nicole Beth Jones of West Haven; aunts, Heather Weber and her husband Jeremy of Oxford, Kit Barbeito and her husband Russell of Seymour; uncle, David Few of Seymour; his “Brother from another mother”, Rob Davis; paternal grandmother, Norma Moorehouse and her companion, Ray Ortiz of Seymour; cousin Joseph Poulsen and wife Nicole of Thomaston; also numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Vermont, Long Island, Indiana and North Carolina.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jack’s name can be made online to Spotty Dog Rescue. A basket for donations will be available at the visitation as well.
