Obituary for Janet Anne Federico (LaFountaine)
RICHFIELD SPRINGS, NY – Janet Anne (LaFountaine) Federico, age 58 of Richfield Springs, NY, beloved companion of Dean Ginnow, Sr., entered peaceful rest on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Waterbury Hospital. Born in West Hartford on August 22, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Evelyn (Moore) LaFountaine.
Janet was a former waitress at Tony’s Diner (Seymour) for many years and was the first woman to pass the Civil Defense Test in Seymour. A very generous soul, she would give you the shirt off her back and always had an open door at her house. Janet enjoyed shopping and cooking, as well as spending time with her family, especially her kids and grand kids.
In addition to Dean, Janet is survived by her loving children, Jason Gardella and his wife Michele of Beacon Falls, and Brian Federico and his fiancé Theresa Mang of NY; siblings, Ellen Macum of PA, Fred Angelino of Ansonia, and Francesco Cassisi of Italy; step-children, Dean Ginnow Jr. and his wife Kim of NY, and Nicole Gagliardi and her husband Joe of FL; cherished grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, Brian, and adored step-grandchildren, Sadie and Dean, III; nieces and nephews, Evelyn, Mike, Michele, Sheri, John and Josh, as well as other extended family and her beloved buddy, Teddy. She was predeceased by her loving son, Charles Federico.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 5pm in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Family and friends may call Sunday afternoon from 2pm until the time of service. Those desiring can make contributions for Janet in memory of Charlie through the funeral home for a scholarship to be set up in the near future. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
