Obituary for Jeanette Bogen (Voycik)

SEYMOUR, CT: Jeanette Bogen, age 84 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest on June 30, 2019 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; she was the beloved wife of 38 years to the late Lawrence Bogen. Jeanette was born March 31, 1935 in Seymour, daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Anthewicz) Voycik. Jeanette was retired from New Haven Copper and Scovill manufacturing where she worked 20 years at each company in Steel Sales. Jeanette was a communicant of St. Nicholas Parish-St. Augustine Church, where she also was a member of The League of the Sacred Heart. She was a member of the Davis S. Miles Post 174 American Legion Auxiliary, Oxford; she volunteered as a mentor at Bungay School, and helped at the Legion Blood Drives, as well as Bingo for the Blind. Jeanette was a member of the Seymour, Oxford, and Beacon Falls Senior Centers. She enjoyed socializing, and also going to live theater, especially on Broadway, and locally at the Center Street Theater, Shelton.

Jeanette leaves her loving family including her daughters, Patricia Zuraw (Michael) of Seymour, and Joanne Wilhelmy (Donald) of Surfside Beach, SC, her grandchildren, Kyle Wilhelmy (Abby), and Colin Wilhelmy, and her great grandchildren, Noah and Charlotte Wilhelmy. Her sister Wanda Neville predeceased her.

Calling Hours are Friday from 9 to 11 AM in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:30 AM in St. Nicholas Parish- St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave., Seymour. Interment will be in ST. Augustine Cemetery.
