Obituary for Louise B. Rowland (Baumeister)

WOODBRIDGE: Louise (Baumeister) Rowland, age 91 of Woodbridge, beloved wife of the late Donald Rowland, entered peaceful rest on Friday, March 22, 2019 in Brookdale of Woodbridge. Born in Flushing, Queens, New York, on July 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Maude (Riceman) Baumeister.

Louise received her bachelor’s degree in floriculture from Cornell University in 1949, and worked briefly for the U.S. Rubber Company before becoming a mother. She was active in the Boy Scouts for thirty years, and received the Silver Beaver Award from Quinnipiac Council BSA. An avid gardener, she had a passion for rhododendrons and azaleas. Louise spent every summer at her beloved home in Maine.

She is survived by her beloved son Robert Rowland and his wife Holly of Woodbridge; her cherished grandson Austin, as well as her niece, Gloria Haag. She was predeceased by her brother, Pvt. Robert J. Baumeister and her niece, Lynn Mansfield.

Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 10 a.m in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will follow in Eastside Burial Grounds, Woodbridge. Family and friends can call on Tuesday, March 26 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
