Obituary for Rafaela "Rae" Rella (Mariconda)
BEACON FALLS – Rafaela “Rae” (Vestuti) Rella, age 80 of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of Carlo Rella, entered peaceful rest Thursday, July 11, 2019 in the Villages at East Farms, Waterbury, surrounded by family. Born in Bronx, New York on September 23, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Agnes (Mariconda) Vestuti.
Rae worked as an executive secretary for Phillips Medical and later was the secretary to the president of Cartier’s. An avid traveler, she enjoyed her trips with Carlo to Europe, Canada, Atlantic City, Florida, as well as cruising and bus trips to Mohegan Sun. Rae could often be found on the dance floor, but she most enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, Rae is survived by her loving children, Phillip Rella and his wife Barbara of North Haven, Nancy Brodesser and her husband Andy of Prospect, and Carol Gendron of FL; three adored grandchildren, Crystal Perachio and her husband Matt, Gianna Rella and Zach Brodesser; four cherished great grandchildren, Anna, Jonathan, Kaitlyn and Logan; many nieces and nephews, as well as her granddogger, Lizza. She was predeceased by her siblings, Josephine Zaccaria, Agnes McDermott and Paul Spinelli.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Villages at east Farms and VITAS Hospice for their care and loving support.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, July 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home 161 W. Church St., Seymour CT 06483. Family and friends may call Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow in Mt. Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
