Shirley E. Hurd, age 89 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest on May 29, 2019 at her home with her devoted family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard W. "Dick" Hurd. Mrs. Hurd was born on February 4, 1930 in Rockingham, VT, daughter of the late Cecil and Ruth Lillian (Brown) Watkins. Shirley was a longtime Seymour resident, and a member of the Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hurd leaves her loving family including her sons, Wayne R. Hurd and his wife Joanne of Old Saybrook and Ralph R. Hurd and his wife Maureen of Seymour, and daughters, Lynn S. Burt and her husband Larry of Ansonia, and Kim Lesiw and her husband Daniel of Norton, MA; her grandchildren, April, Matt, Scott, Jeff, Jason, Jessica, Alexandra, and Adam; also her great grandchildren, Alec, Parker, Jacob, Ryan and Marissa; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours are Thursday May 30th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Friday May 31st from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with a Funeral Service in celebration of Shirley's life to immediately follow at 11:00 AM all at the Ralph E.
