Obituary for Wilbur Stoddard
OXFORD: Wilbur J. Stoddard, age 67 of Oxford, entered peaceful rest on Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Griffin Hospital. Born in West Hartford on September 9, 1951, he was a son of the late Wilbur R. and Barbara (Huggins) Stoddard. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather.
A US Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War, and a member of the air Force national guard. Wilbur was an avid outdoorsman, and a member of the Southington sportsman association. He loved hunting, fishing and bird watching.
Survivors include his loving children, Wilbur Stoddard and his wife Heather of Berlin, and Jessica Stoddard of Naugatuck; three cherished grandchildren, Ethan and Olivia Watson, and Alexandria Johnson; brothers, Timothy Stoddard and his wife Jen of Hebron, Daniel Stoddard and his wife Jackie of MN; sister, Susan Stough and her husband Louis of MD; his previous wife, Mary H. Stoddard, and many nieces and nephews.
Will also leaves behind his fiancé, Marjorie Houle. They celebrated life together. Laughing ,dancing, travelling, camping ,bird watching , and renovating his house. Will is the love of her life.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, May 3, 2019 from 4pm to 8pm in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Mass of Christian Burial with full military honors will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1 p.m. in St Thomas the Apostle Church, Oxford. Interment will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 DIRECTLY at 2pm in the CT State Veteran’s Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT 06457.
