Obituary for Robert M. "Bob" Costigan Sr.
SEYMOUR, CT: Robert M. "Bob" Costigan, Sr. age 80 years entered into peaceful rest on February 21, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was the beloved husband of Marion P. (Dechio) Costigan with whom they were enjoying their 60th year of marriage. Bob was a long time resident of Seymour, formerly of Ansonia. He graduated from Pine High School, Ansonia where he studied the Automotive Repair trade. Mr. Costigan served in the U.S. Military, and was honorably discharged after his time in the U.S. Naval Reserves.
In his spare time, Bob enjoyed NASCAR motorsports and Mohegan Sun with his wife, and going to Fritz's Snack Bar in Oxford.
In addition to his loving wife, Robert leaves his children, Kimberlee Simko and her husband Robert of Naugatuck, Kelly Shamansky of Woodbury, and Robert Costigan, Jr. and his wife Robbi of Oxford; his grandchildren, Zachary and Alexis Simko, Nicholas, John Michael, Marissa and Abigail Shamansky, and Robert M. Costigan, III, as well as a great grandson Damian Shamansky, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A Memorial mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Bob's life will be held on Thursday February 28, 2019 at St. Nicholas Parish-Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Road, Seymour at 10:30 AM. A time of visitation will be held just prior to the service at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment with full Military Honors will be at Mountain Meadows Cemetery.
